MARINE COLLAGEN FACE CREAM, EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS

MARINE COLLAGEN STUDY

To evaluate the effect of the Collagen in our Collagen Face cream, a half-face, placebo-controlled clinical study was conducted on 32 women who had self-perceived dry skin.

The panelists were divided into two groups. Since it was a half-face double blind study, each panelist was given two serums — one containing no active (placebo) and another containing Collagen. The panelists were instructed to apply the product twice daily over 4 weeks.

On Day 1, written consent forms were signed and collected and baseline measurements were established. On Day 14 and Day 28, Corneometer and cutometer readings were taken and subjective questionnaires were filled out. An expert clinician oversaw the measurements throughout the length of the study.

Study Results

The in vivo panel study evaluating the effects of MarineCollagen showed that the placebo-treated skin showed a decrease in hydration after two and four weeks. This data indicates that the serum formulation itself had no effect on the skin whatsoever. Moreover, all the changes in the skin measurements can be solely attributed to the active ingredients.

On the other hand, the areas treated with either Marine Collagen showed improvement in skin hydration, elasticity and firmness significantly over the placebo treated area but comparable to each other.

The panelists using the serum formulated with Marine Collagen showed an overall improvement in both skin elasticity and resilience over time
